St. Vincent de Paul
The Society of St Vincent De Paul is a Catholic lay organization that helps the poor and those in temporary need. We are not a social service agency – we are a person-to-person Catholic ministry that sees the face of Christ in the faces of those who ask for our help. We are in nearly every parish in the Archdiocese, every state in the nation and in 131 countries of the world.
At Assumption the focus of our efforts is providing temporary help with food, clothing, household goods, rent, fuel or utility bills.
We work through the Greater Seattle St Vincent de Paul, which provides administrative support directly to our conference in addition to operating stores and other social services that provide jobs and training for the unemployed.
Our conference meets monthly for prayer and to review our work. Currently we are scheduled in the basement of the church. Any interested parishioner is invited to attend.
To request assistance from St. Vincent de Paul call 206-767-6449 from 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM or stop in their intake center at 700 S. Dearborn. Once the center has determined needs and which parish will be helping, they will contact the volunteers who will in turn make contact to help.
