Interfaith Commission

The Interfaith Commission is comprised of 11 people of Assumption Catholic Church. When we organized a few years ago, we decided to work under this Mission Statement.

• To advance the Kingdom of God by actively engaging in efforts that bring peoples, religions and cultures into a more peaceful, loving, understanding and tolerant life here on earth.

• To engage in efforts which increase the awareness of the commonality in, and share values from, our many faiths. To promote compassion, love, peace, tolerance, justice and civility among all people.

Interfaith has worked with other congregations within our area to hold joint services, and to provide material help to people who need it. Our primary material work has been with the Interfaith Committee of Sand Point Community Housing Association. If you wish to join us or to help, please contact the Sandy Spelman.
