Altar Server
ALTAR SERVERS
Altar Serving allows young people in our church the opportunity to be a part of the parish ministry. They are a visible part of the mass and their role is to assist the priest in administering the celebrations of the mass.
Altar Servers help by leading processions, holding the book of the prayers, lighting candles, and assisting at the Lord’s table with water and with wine.
To become an Altar Server you must be entering sixth grade or older, and have made your First Communion. There is no upper age limit, and after you are trained you usually serve once a month at the mass of your preference for as long as you want to be a part of this ministry.
Altar Servers receive training so they feel confident and prepared. If you are interested in becoming an altar server you can contact the parish office or Carolyn Breyesse.
